hey everybody charles hoskinson here live from warm sunny colorado uh we have a bit of a developing news item uh occurring uh real time it appears that coindesk coinbase gemini uh cz's account justin's account charlie lee's account and others have been hacked for some sort of giveaway scam that they're posting we're not sure about the origins of this but given the sophistication of the operators of this account we can only assume that they're using two-factor authentication and password managers as a consequence it's probably an issue either with the two-factor authentication infrastructure the twitter infrastructure or tweet aggregators such as hootsuite we're not sure what's going on but in case our accounts get hit because obviously if coinbase and gemini and these other guys could get hit we could potentially be hit i'm just proactively making a video saying ignore giveaway scams it's always a scam if you see any unusual tweets uh report our accounts and um hopefully twitter will be able to freeze or shut things down so we're not sure what the hell is going on but i've never seen anything like this i suspect it's probably some aggregator like hootsuite that has been compromised because a lot of these people use that to manage their enterprise tweet portfolio so please please be aware we have uh we're not doing a giveaway all the people that are claiming to be doing a giveaway they're not doing a giveaway coindesk article just came out a few minutes ago about it uh and it's a developing news item i already have my director cyber security charles morgan looking into it with a team and we'll do everything in our power to lock things down as best we can but we're not sure how this attack is occurring and given the actors involved there's a high probability that it'll continue to cascade because it's probably some sort of weak part of the uh of the infrastructure so we're so i'll let you guys know what we discover uh real time i sent a private message to jack we're doing everything we can to gather as much information as we can but our accounts may become compromised because we don't know how the accounts are being compromised uh and given the nature of the actors who've been compromised there's a there's a good likeliness that standard security methods like two-factor authentication and password manager are not sufficient to lock an account down uh so uh so that's uh point of this video just let everybody know please spread it as far as you can there is no 5000 bitcoin giveaway uh we're not doing a giveaway charlie lee's not doing a giveaway i'm willing to wager binance and justin the rest of the gang aren't either it's obvious that their accounts have been compromised and we may have that happen to us because we don't know how it happened so if you see it on our accounts it's a scam don't fall for it please spread this video as far as you guys can see it cheers
