hi everybody this is Charles Hawkinson broadcasting live from warm sunny Colorado it's another wonderful day snowstorm in the back the office is quite warm though so anyway just real quickly a few things I wanted to cover a few things I wanted to go over and I hope everybody can hear me all right let me make sure my mic setting looks good just a moment usually it it's good to go although people said it was a little quiet last time and just want to make sure that it all looks pretty good can you guys hear me all right sounds good thumbs up alright we're ready to go alright so an edge and microphone default good all right okay so real briefly a few updates first on the incentivized test stack for the ITN what we're gonna do this week is we're likely going to forego the regular Wednesday update of Jormungandr and we're gonna push it to next week and do a combined update of Dedalus the wallet back end and ITN altogether there's been a big litany of issues that people have reported we've heard them we've played around with them and we got a pretty good understanding of things and we think that if we bundle a big update together we should be able to resolve most of those things so this Friday Demetrius is gonna do a video he's gonna tell you guys what's gonna hit when and how next week I and that'll be a Daedalus and wallet back end and a Jormungandr update we've got a lot of reports from staking pools that German Gander point eight nine has stabilized things a lot for them and we've seen a lot more Network stability from the state pool operators side but there's still quite a bit of issues with people on the Daedalus and on the wallet back inside and my understanding is we haven't updated that's to the retail client to the everyday person since December so we'll go ahead and push something next week Demetrius will announce that on Friday of the day we're going to push it likely it'll be either Thursday Friday next week depending upon how we cut all the releases but likely Friday next week we'll do a Jormungandr a Daedalus and a wallet back end update if you're a state pole operator you'll see that there's still a lot of stuff going on in the on the Jormungandr node side but we're not going to cut the usual release this week we're going to do it next week for German candor 0.9 and it's a pretty hefty release it involves chain selection it's involving logging and we also seem to have found some ways to resolve those spikes of CPU utilization within the software so this required a lot of we aren't protecting and re-engineering of certain things and a lot of housecleaning for the way that things were configured within the Jormungandr node and unfortunately that work is is pretty involved and pretty pedantic so Vincent requested an extra week to get that done but then we realized there was a lot of things on the Daedalus and the wallet back inside that would be nice to do so we said let's sweep it all together put it in one package and then ship it out and hopefully those who are experiencing issues with the with Daedalus after the ITM especially the connecting the network or the balance and other things that should resolve it we also have changed the way that we do stateful ranking so the staple ranking will appear differently within the new interface so Friday Demetrius is going to release a video on that look for that second the OPF Tiahrt fork tentatively tentatively tentatively I said three times because people tend to start that looks like the data is going to be February 20th we originally thinking the 14th but we wanted a few extra days for certain partners so we suspect that February 20th is when we're gonna do that hard fork and shortly thereafter we will do the update for the main client with the byron reboot with the new haskell wallet back-end so two major releases this month the OPF Tiahrt fork and tentatively tentatively tentatively at scheduled for February 20th unless there's some major delay because of an exchange or another partner and they need some more time with something but we look pretty good for that and then shortly thereafter we will release the byron reboot with the new haskell wallet back end this is the most significant release since we released the software in September of 2017 it's a hundred percent rewritten code security audited built with formal methods and it's a hundred percent built in-house so we're extremely excited about that and it's chugging away and it looks like it's gonna be after the OPF T heart Fork but probably won't be pushed into March so that'll occur likely towards the end of February and that is the basis from which all the software will be deployed in the future including the Shelly release as for Shelly test net depending on when we released the OB ft hard fork how the next two Sprint's go we'll either release that sometime in March or in April so we'll make that announcement as we get towards February the end of February it looks like also our changes that we've done in product and project management are bearing fruit for estimation and we should be in a position by the end of February to announce a date for the release of the Shelly main that there'll be some terms and conditions on that but I believe that we'll have a high degree of certainty for that date band that we'll announce and we will do a launch party more likely than not in Kyoto for that so I'm gonna start coordinating with the Cardinal foundation and with the mergo I and we'll make sure that all three of us are aligned on exactly what that dates gonna look like the dependencies behind that date and then when we're gonna do the launch event in Kyoto and I'll personally fly out there along with key members of our team and our partners and our ambassadors to to go ahead and launch the Shelly may net so so look for that towards the end of February sometime in February Aparna is also going to do the first major product management update for you guys talking with her it looks like it's going to be the second half of February that that update is going to come through we're working with Tim at the moment our mark comms director at I witch cave for figure out the best format for that but we're gonna include things like all the statistics we've been aggregating for the ITN suggestions from the community about the main net major accomplishments how our sprint structures are working the retrospectives and what we've learned from an eccentric said there so it's going to be very significant right now today we're doing in tomorrow a workshop for the smart contract side and we're having a scoping discussion about the first release of gokhan so they'll probably be a big discussion from de budget about this we'll also talk about some of the partner relationships that we're setting up in particular ledger and other such things and eccentric cetera so at the end of April we should have a pretty good update for you guys excuse me at the end of February we should have a pretty good update on the product management side and develop an expectation that every month thereafter this massive data dump that we do will will be done by the product team moving forward we're also probably going to have a particle on the card ah no effect either this month or next month likely this month though to introduce herself and also explain how things are changing in 2020 for the release of Cardinal so a lot of data dumps happening in February and two major events happening so I mentioned tentatively there's going to be February 20th for the opie FG hard fork we're looking at after the Oh PFT hard fork the release of the byron reboot which is a significant piece of software and then towards the end of February likely the very end of February we should be in a position to give you guys a date for the main net and will also announce concurrent to that when we're going to Kyoto and what that parties going to look like for the launch of the Shelly Mena the Shelly Haskell test that is slated somewhere in the March to April band and we'll give you guys an exact date of when that's going to hint at the end of February as well so we'll announce both of those at the same time Danelle is also going working on a transition strategy at the moment for those who have running staples on the incentivised test net to help them transition to the Shelly Haskell test net verify that their infrastructure is working properly so we're going to write a bunch of documentation and videos and we'll develop a dedicated support line for our state pool operators to help them along the way and do now we'll explain how that's going to work in his update when we do the big update at the end of February the PWC workshop is coming along pretty well we're still in scoping at the moment there's about four weeks of pre work that we're doing this month and then we'll have a big work in person workshop with them in London in March and the Macan marketing work is going as an input of that and then the output of this will go back into what we're doing with McCann so hopefully we should see the full output of that commercialization alignment at the launch event in in Kyoto so things are chugging away pretty well we're working along apologies that the ITN is not working as well as it should for some of you guys but we do have to understand that the purpose of the ITM was for staple operators and making sure that they're well so the focus on Jormungandr has been along those lines along with network stability we've seen considerable improvements in the last three weeks and we will continue working along those lines but the release next week Friday will ensure that we do a release that helps people with the Dedalus side of things and our hope is that plus perhaps some more releases will fix things and lose things in the right direction so this is a brief update but I just wanted to give you guys some some basic things so to recap we're doing an ITN update not this week but next week it's gonna include Dedalus in the wallet back-end Demetrius is doing a video on Friday to explain what's going in that and some of the lessons learned we've started collecting a lot of KPIs and statistics on the incentivize tests that for the will announced those along with the feedback we've gotten from the surveys and the state pool operators and general public using the test net and the product update that Aparna and her product team is going to give towards the end of the month we're going to do the announcement at the end of this month likely for the Shelly main that release of the exact date for when that's going to happen we're basing that on the velocity we have with the sprints and what we managed to get through so we can get a much more reliable band by the end of this month the OPF Tiahrt fork tentatively is scheduled for February 20th and after we do the OPF hearty hard fork and clear that will do the reboot release and that's probably going to hit the end of this month early Matt March but more likely at the end of this month and that's the foundation for all software moving forward we're right now rewriting card ah no documentation we just started the conversation about a complete overhaul and revamp of Cardinal Docs and anticipation of the launch of the main net as well as some of the requirements coming from our exchange partners and we'll make an announcement at a later date of when Cardinal Docs will be completely refresh it's badly out of date it needs to be completely overhauled and there's lots of things we need to put in there but we do have a plan for that we just need to get make sure we have all the people assigned to properly placed for it but it is moving along and other than that things are things are shoving away so lots gonna happen this month lots gonna happen next month and a lot even more is gonna happen in April it's gonna be a very busy next few months we thank you guys for your patience and we thank you guys for sticking with us this long but it is pretty exciting to see that it just keeps getting better and better and more and more releases to come we are working with a lot of partners these days as I mentioned we are working with PwC to help us develop the commercial strategy were working with McCann for the marketing and branding side of things and this is an iterative process it's a lot of work especially because we have to align a Virgo and high wage kid Kay and Cardinal foundation and one basis I've also started directly participating in the CIP process and we've started having regular meetings about that and on the I which K aside we're hiring a dedicated product manager to synthesize all these things together we're not quite in a position where we're ready for community feedback yet but we will open that up for public comment feedback as soon as we cross the major first milestone they're likely at the end of February sometime in March we'll also make a statement about what our basho strategy is for Cardinal and how we're going to go step by step to get basho out in a reasonable time frame the Hydra paper still looks like it's slated for really on in February unless I hear otherwise from the science team but things are chugging away there and it looks like we're making revisions in the Kronos paper and the skits arrows paper so the whole purpose of or Boris is coming out I start having some discussions with Rob Cohn as well about doing some better releases on or Boris on the explenation side so he's writing a very comprehensive blog post explaining how warhorse works from Proust to staking and other such things and we'll make sure that that hits sometime this month or next month but certainly before the launch of the main net it's very important we get these things out all right well that's that's all I have for you guys a short update pretty cold outside we're we're just chipping away at things thank you for your patience and look forward to the next videos Cheers
