hi this is Hoskinson broadcasting live from warm sunny Corona filled Colorado I wanted to do a brief video real quickly to promote an event that I'll be personally attending I was going to go to this event in London but unfortunately because of coronavirus it has been turned over into a digital a virtual event and I think it's such an important workshop that as many people as possible should attend so it's the third annual zk Proof workshop and this is the first ZK proof Home Edition it's going to be held April 20th to May 21st every Monday and Thursday at 3 p.m. UTC and if you go to ZK proof org you can register on Eventbrite I think it's about 30 pounds to register so very affordable and it contains the who's who of the cryptocurrencies face and the cryptography space for people who are doing active research into zero knowledge protocols and in cryptography so one of the things that's really important to me is that people understand that this is not just academic research but this is among the most applied and most important of all research in the cryptocurrency space because it is the only way long term we will preserve the concept of inclusive accountability so the first question you read of course ask is what is inclusive accountability so this is something that's been here since the very first day of Bitcoin January 3rd of 2009 it's the simple idea that we all check each other's work so it's no trust me it's you get to verify so I say here's my blockchain here's my history you run an algorithm on your computer and you know that what I'm giving you is correct the problem is that as block chains grow as we do more with them voting property registration we do multi-asset eventually they'll go from artifacts that are in the megabytes and gigabytes to things in the terabytes and the petabytes and to the exabytes and eventually the yoda bytes and at that point it will be impossible for normal users to be able to verify the totality of all history within the system that means you'll have less and less people over time who are able to actually participate at the full node level and be able to verify that the source of truth you're looking for is right in addition as we do more complicated transactions as we go into basically smart contracts as we go to very complex contingent settlements that are very stateful unfortunately becomes more difficult for the average user to be able to process and verify all this histories right and furthermore a lot of these programs and transactions need to be private so zero-knowledge cryptography provides a very beautiful path towards achieving both privacy and scalability while maintaining inclusive accountability so this is a very important workshop the zero knowledge proof workshop because basically it's a no-bullshit academic conference that's showing you guys the state-of-the-art of what the industry as a whole is doing to not only talk about ways to solve these problems but to standardize existing solutions that have occurred we recently published a paper called sonic in December of 2018 and we spent over a year implementing that paper and actually bring this through Russ code to the world it's a very improved zero knowledge proof system so our scientists will be at this conference among alga rands and others to present on their innovations that we've been able to bring to the space but most importantly I think it's so incredible that now that it's virtual everybody from anywhere in the world can attend and get a deeper better understanding of not only how this technology works but then also where this technology is going to go and get realistic expectations about how long certain things are going to be and where are things available to be used off the shelf so I'd love for every one of you if you can make it at least one of the sessions because it's going to be going on for quite a long time as I mentioned April 20th to May 21st every Monday and Thursday as starting at 3:00 p.m. UTC and it's going to be basically a zoom conference link and if you go to the website ZK proof org ZK proof org you'll be able to register through their link on Eventbrite and as I mentioned it's very affordable I think it's running only about 30 pounds we are platinum sponsor of this event and there are many others who have sponsored including El Grande and trail of bits Google the etherium foundation Claire Maddox Tasos Deloitte Aztec Cobra protocol labs the Z cash foundation cutit a hyper ledger and others so we're a very good company and we're just so excited to see how far this space has evolved in such a short period of time and I'm such a big fan of this technology and working NGO that I think it's so important that as many people as possible to ten so that's my free bit of advertising for the conference and I'd love to see you guys there and I can't wait for all the presentations thank you so much for spending a few moments with me and I hope to see you at the conference April 20th to May Cheers
