hi this is char poss Canton broadcasting live from warm sunny Colorado back in the office wearing a Hawaiian shirt having a great day today's to happening Oh congratulations a Bitcoin for surviving yet another major event we should see the economic fallout of that coming months as miners reallocate markets react this weekend was pretty turbulent with the markets we saw about a one and a half billion dollars worth of Bitcoin liquidated which is what pushed the price down from 10,000 but you know these things always happen people trade the rumor and sell the news so on the I which case I cardinal side today is pioneer day the brave state pool operators got together I think there was 19 of them and we had our first meeting with them this morning it was call a total amount of people on it were around 52 or something like that whole presentation we got homework for them to do we told them bring two people in after they reach a certain threshold we turned on the friends and family test net today Sam Sam has some beautiful charts I saw monograph on ax and I tweeted them boy it's uh it's just a beautiful day I'm very happy about the outcome a lot of people worked hard over the weekend get some of this plumbing done and throughout the week we're gonna be rolling a lot of cool stuff out to the pioneers and they're they're gonna be living the Oregon Trail for a little bit quote an old video game from back in the day and it's gonna be a beautiful countryside but still some batteries not included wild bears and things like that to overcome just like all pioneers in the past but the good news is that their suffering is your benefit as they get further along the distance between now in the public Haskell test n is not so long and we'll be making some announcements very soon about when that's going to hit based upon feedback we get from pioneers we also have upcoming a card Auto effect APIs ode was Duncan Kevin and Phil cotton others talk about pledging how about that a lot of things to do there and it's a great dialogue having with the community right now a lot of opinions a lot of passions but it's just an example of how we get things done we tell you what we're gonna do we do it and then we told you what we did and so we as a community or start and operate as one and be synchronized as one and get things done we've even noticed that proactively some of those pioneers have been pulling our documentation as we're writing it right off of github and starting to comment on it so it's just incredible we weren't even planning and socializing that for a little bit longer and we're already getting questions about it so so this is just an example of what a great community does they hold you accountable to the commitments and promises you make they understand that sometimes you can't get everything done when you want to get it done but they remind you that you have to get it done at some point and we're getting it done every day we're getting it done and coke quality is still very high the experiences we've had the ease of use to deploy these things have been phenomenal we just recently released Daedalus Flight 1.1 so that's exciting too Daedalus flights still adding new features and functionality now I'm even starting to request some features myself two features in particular that we've begun exploring one I'd like to see a CSV export for Daedalus that also includes reference to the time of the transaction and the date of the transaction exit me and the value of the transaction so the date and the value so for tax purposes you can see what your basis is and US dollars this is a very requested feature and be super cool to bring that in so we can have some reference to price and the transaction log from some open API and we'll explore how to do that another thing I'm very keen to explore is if you can use a UV key for your spending password as opposed to an actual spending password so there's some credentials either PGP or something associated with the did that lives on your Yubikey and to spend your money from Daedalus you actually have to plug in at Yubikey to do that this would dramatically increase security because it would be two-factor authentication so we'll start looking at those api's and see if it's possible to do that with that device I know you can use your ubq for PGP so the very least you could potentially encrypt the private keys using PGP but that would be pretty cool but fact that we had this platform it's there it's growing and we could rapidly add features we can brainstorm these ideas and to a greater extent you guys can brainstorm these ideas now so if you have some features or functionality you'd like to see in Daedalus let us know that's what the point of the flight program is and we have a stolid foundation to build on we've already started talking about the next generation of paper wallets there's already vacuum labs working full-time at led your integration for Daedalus and the next update of the ledger forward include cold staking or even talking about a better way of representing addresses I call ellipsis mode and so we might even write a card I don't approve of a proposal for that and actually the CIP process is already out we have the first generation of it I think there's four CIPS already submitted there's a lot of discussions going around really cool things are coming especially on the voting and democracy side door is doing amazing work can't spoil anything yet but I'll just say that things are happening there sooner than you think so pioneers are kicking ass yeah they've already started making some videos one of my proudest moments recent history was watching a video that one of the pioneers made today posted on reddit and I just tweeted it where he talked about his experience in the process real-time and mentioned that we didn't have them sign NDA's and we told them not to hide anything the only thing we told them not to say was when they were selected don't mention you're part of the Pioneer set till the Pioneer test that comes out so he had to wait a few days to be able to talk about it but now everything we tell them goes straight to you guys community and the Pioneers will bring more community members in and they'll bring more community members in and so we'll be able to hit that open test net not just with Cardinal foundation Amer go and input output support but with a very well-trained very excited very vigilant group of the community blog posts are coming out like crazy as you may notice the eye which K blog is pretty active these days and as I mentioned Carano effect is really starting to heat up there was a great episode this Sunday that included a member of the community who is a CFA who created his own stake pool and he talked about pledges exhaustively highly recommend watching that episode a great great episode and it is something that I'd love for the community to get heavily involved in because we do have to set these parameters soon as we turn Shelley on so it's important as many people as possible have their say or at least understand why these things exist so so things are definitely looking good there so it's a good day for all of us good day for the Bitcoin community good day for the cryptocurrency ecosystem technology's come out at the speed of light and pioneer has been a great start to be successful it's a two-way relationship so we need to make sure that those state pool operators are doing their jobs and they're communicating and they're sharing their experiences and positive and negative and we're accountable to them so if they don't like something they're sure it's how we're going to make a youtube video about it and tweet about it so that's that's great and it's just wonderful to see a real product coming along I also recently got a demo on prism tala prism and it's used in card on oh that's gonna be really cool too I think you guys are gonna have a lot of fun with that we've selected a vendor for the virtual summit and we will announce the virtual summit date when we announce the date of the launch of the Shelly Manette client for the upgrade so look for that as well that's coming sooner than you think so hang in there May is gonna be a very very busy month it's already been a pretty busy month we haven't slept much and we're working don't let the Hawaiian shirt fiha confuse you this is this is me trying to convince myself that I'm gonna get a break one of these days and the team is no different I'm really proud of the engineers especially this weekend they did amazing work this weekend just trying to get everything ready to go for pioneer the engineers DevOps QA people technical writers the graphics design people especially our in-house design team shout out to them they're wonderful and they just do amazing work I'm so proud of Scott and Rob and the rest of the gang the the assets we get are just top-notch and right now we're right in the middle of rebuilding the car dork website getting the commercial stuff set up the real-world use case expose is making things understandable it's been great working with McCann and see because they've helped us really structure our thoughts and we're having some fun there but overall it's getting done it really is nearly brings a damp tear in my eye it's so exciting so until next time this was a brief update and I thank you to the Pioneers like all pioneers who came before them have to endure the pain and suffering of the frontier so that they too can bring the frontier to you and very soon the Pioneers will give you the frontier in the form of the Haskell test net to get the rest of the community on board and then very soon those people will bring you the balance check so that every single user of Cardinal can verify everything's right and then we have that main net client and then we have the virtual summit so thanks guys so much for listening it's a good day for us all and thank you to this community that's been so patient for so long we're finally getting there and we're finally turning it on and very soon and you all be asking me when Gogan when Gogan went to go get and we restart the process all over again but hopefully this one's gonna be a lot shorter than the other one and there's a lot more people to ask me too Cheers
